The ARFF unit is free for low income clients and other rates are based on income.. ARFF will spay/neuter cats, kittens and puppies, dogs up to 30lbs. (one day a month they will neuter larger dogs) they will also give a penicillin shot, a rabies vaccine and a rabies tag - completely FREE. In ferals they will now notch ears as well (if requested). They are operating on Tuesdays, and are parked at Broward County Animal Care and Control (near the Ft. Lauderdale airport). Animal Coaltiion of Tampa is a licensed, non profit organization that holds a
one a month rotating clinic with the objective of spaying/neutering form 50-125
cats per month. We are on our thrid month of Project SpayDay and move the clinic
from hospital to hospital as with volunteer vets. We need volunteers, donations
and of course cats to spay and neuter. The caretakers need bring no proof of
the feral condition of the cats, but all cats must be presented in traps and
the caretaker must agree to continue to care and feed for the colony. We have
traps to loan for on a deposit basis.

For cats and dogs of low income county residents who provide proof of residency and income, the Spay Shuttle provides very low cost spay/neuter, rabies vaccination, and a county license tag. People must go to the Spay Shuttle between 8 and 9 am with their clean, leashed dogs or cats in carriers. Pets go home in the afternoon. Call for details.
